Catholic Social Teaching

Catholic social teaching is based on  our understanding that every human being is created in the image of God and deserves to be respected.  At St Joseph's, the children learn about the principles of Catholic Social Teaching and how they can be applied in our everyday lives so that we can follow in Jesus' footsteps and SHINE God's love.

Catholic Social Teaching in action

The children live out the CST themes in their daily lives.  They look after God's creations by rescuing injured hedgehogs.  They think about the dignity of others by fundraising to help homeless people.  Children donated food for the foodbank and toys, books, gloves, toiletries for the Christmas Boxes.

The 7 Catholic Social Teaching Principles are:

*Human Dignity

*Dignity of Work

*Family and Community

*Option for the Poor and Vulnerable

*Rights and responsibilities

*Solidarity

*Stewardship
