Welcome to Peak Class! Year 5 is an exciting and important stage in a child’s learning journey. During this year at St Joseph's pupils grow in independence, confidence and responsibility while continuing to develop strong academic and social skills.

In our Year 5 classroom learning is engaging, challenging and supportive. We celebrate all pupils' achievements and pride ourselves on being kind to each other and aspiring to our SHINE values.  Lessons are designed to encourage curiosity and critical thinking. Pupils take part in a wide range of activities including discussions, group work, practical investigations and creative projects, alongside extra curricular activities and enrichment experiences.

Alongside academic learning, we place strong emphasis on wellbeing, teamwork and respect for others. Pupils are encouraged to share ideas, support their peers, and take pride in their achievements.

By the end of Year 5, our children will have developed the skills, confidence and resilience needed to move successfully into their final year of primary school.
